Hand dyed bulky and super bulky yarn!

Eureka!  I have found bulky and super bulky undyed fiber that I’m happy with!  Most of my patterns call for chunky weight yarns, so being able to dye those weights myself is very important to me.  And hopefully to you!

Above is a single ply, roving yarn that is soft. as. butter.  85% merino wool, 15% mohair and bulky weight.  Now I’m pretty sensitive to mohair, but this doesn’t bother me one little bit.  In fact, it’s so soft and silky that knitting with this is soothing for my poor, hardworking hands.  🙂

I really love pale, delicate shades for Winter and pale apricot blush (above) fits that bill!  A limited edition (only three skeins remaining in the world) colorway and 125 yards/skein.  I just knit a longer, more slender version of Phydeaux Twist with one skein of this:  heaven!  (I’ll share photos when I finish blocking!)

I have more bulky and even a super bulky fiber I’m still testing (the super bulky is different from what I typically like … but I’m loving it so far!) – more to come on those!

I just received more of the merino/mohair single ply bulky yesterday and will be dyeing new colors today!

What colors are looking for this holiday season???

    Hello Again Brenda..

I was wondering if you might consider making some of the bulky/chunky yarns in your beautiful YELLOW shades as you have done with your Fingering Yellow Shaded Yarns..

    Thanks so much..

Brenda, I am anxiously awaiting your super bulky yarn versions! Would especially like to see a blush pink.
