gratitude despite a heart breaking world

The slap down

The news is increasingly tough to stomach lately. Not just the national news, but across the globe. In the midst of yet another day of sickening headlines, I’m so thankful for all the good and right in our world. And my world.

So here are a few good and right things to share with you:

  1. My mom is a champion and I am so thankful that she’s doing as well as she is at week two of radiation therapy.
  2. I have the two cutest kitties on the planet.  Even when they’re slapping each other down silly.  Or on the shelf that they KNOW they’re not supposed to be on.  Innocently licking a paw.
  3. I am starting a new position next week – will be transition from my current position to the new position during the next three weeks, then full time in my new role.  I’m really looking forward to the opportunity with many new opportunities to learn new things, become a better manager and leader, and effect positive change.
  4. It’s finally cold outside (and inside, too!)!  Time to knit with utter abandon, guilt free.
I want to hear about YOUR good and right things!  Please share with us or post on your own blog and share the link in the comments!

Hi Brenda- OK I agree that we must look for good and right things to focus on now (thankful your mom is feeling well) – here are some of mine

    1. we got a $47 tax refund check today – totally unexpected and most likely not even ours

    2. finished the last of the Halloween candy so it will no longer be around to tempt me – also hid the scale until after the holidays

    3. harry potter weekend – feels like Christmas now

    4. an old friend found me on facebook this week just when I was thinking about ditching it since I am so bad about posting there- glad I didn’t

    5. got a huge quote for a bathroom renovation which convinced hubby to do it himself which is what I wanted to happen in the first place – just hoping he will actually finish it

Cat, I’d be pretty excited about $47 from the feds! I so agree re Harry Potter. Feels like the end of an era, doesn’t it?
